JAMIE INSTRUCTING IN EQUILIBRIUM'S PORSCHE BOXSTER IN 2017
Equilibrium is an award winning Chartered wealth management company based in Wilmslow, Cheshire, that offers a genuinely personalised financial planning and investment management service, giving clients confidence now and in the future.
Equilibrium's owner, Colin Lawson, is a keen trackday enthusiast and budding racing driver who has been a client and friend of Jamie's dad, Tim Arnold, a licenced motorsport instructor, for several years. As well as taking part in general public trackdays, since 2016 Equilibrium have run their own exclusive trackday at Anglesey Circuit in North Wales in mid September. Jamie took part in both of the first two Equilibrium trackdays, helping out with looking after clients, doing passenger rides and supervising clients on track.
Colin has become a good friend more than just a client, both to Jamie and his Dad, and he and his wife and business partner Gaynor have decided to name the trackday "The Annual Equilibrium Jamie Arnold Trackday" in Jamie's honor, to help to raise awareness about Lynch Syndrome and to raise money for charity. The main beneficiary of the funds raised for charity will be St Rocco's Hospice in Warrington, Cheshire, who looked after Jamie so well.

The 2018 Annual Equilibrium Jamie Arnold Trackday
The very first Annual Equilibrium Jamie Arnold Track Day took place on Thursday 13th September at Anglesey Circuit. It was exactly 7 months by the calendar that we lost Jamie on 13th February, and it wasn’t long after he passed away that Colin Lawson and Gaynor Rigby of Equilibrium said they would name their company’s annual track day after him.
It was an amazing day with Bentley, McLaren and Porsche all bringing cars for the guests to drive, in addition to Equilibrium’s own Ariel Atom and Porsche Boxster. Many guests brought and used their own cars too.
Some special friends worked on the day, instructing:
- Anthony Reid
- Mike Wilds
- Neil Primrose
- Marcus Carniel
- John Sykes
John very kindly brought along his very valuable historic 1953 Jaguar C Type, which he allowed people to drive!
During the lunch break some of Jamie’s family and friends, his sister Ashlea and her boyfriend James, his brother Ross via FaceTime video from New York (unfortunately Ross & Sophie couldn’t get time off work to attend in person), his Dad, Tim Arnold; Joel Shields; Rob Bellinger and Anthony Reid went up to the top of the hill and buried some of Jamie’s ashes in the grass next to one of his favourite parts of the circuit ‘Rocket’ corner.
A BBQ of lobster, chips and coleslaw, with champagne for 90 people was enjoyed after the track action before those staying the night returned to the hotel for a very late night!
The day was used to raise funds for the charity we support in Jamie’s memory, St Rocco’s Hospice in Warrington...
The total amount raised for St Rocco's Hospice from the Equilibrium track day in Jamie's memory is £6,830!
With the money raised earlier in 2018 from Jamie's Just Giving and Virgin Money Giving pages via this website, plus the money Jamie's sister, Ashlea, raised for Cancer Research UK, this brings the total raised in Jamie's memory to over £10,000.
On Friday 12 October Tim Arnold (Jamie's dad) and Colin Lawson (founder of Equilibrium Asset Management) visited St Rocco's Hospice to present them with a cheque for £6,830 raised by the track day.
Jamie’s family want to thank Equilibrium's Chloe Halling and Jessica Carney for their hard work in organising the event over the past 7 months. But most of all, we can’t thank Colin Lawson and Gaynor Rigby enough for what they have done for Jamie. But we’ll try… Colin, Gaynor, from Tim (dad), Ashlea (sister), Ross (brother), Belinda (mum) and all of Jamie’s family and friends, THANK YOU! You are the most amazing people!
Thank you to Bentley Manchester, McLaren Manchester and Porsche Chester for their support on this event...
Thanks also to Anglesey Circuit for helping us put on a great event, and Rob Bellinger of The Beaujolais Run for organising the BBQ!
We will continue to raise awareness about Lynch Syndrome and money for St Rocco's Hospice to keep Jamie's memory alive for years to come.
Now we're looking forward to next year's Equilibrium Jamie Arnold Track Day!
